Kashubian Ring

The commune of Kartuzy has joined the realisation of the regional program "Gateway of Kashubian Ring." The project is partly financed from EU funds. Moreover, a new modern Tourist Information Office will be placed in the House of Craft in Klasztorna Street.
- The idea of the Kashubian Ring is that each of the partners taking part in the project promotes different element which is associated with the particular region of Kashubia – explains the mayor of the town, Ms Miroslawa Lehman- and for example, Zukowo can promote the Kaszubian embroidery, Chmielno- pottery, we- the Kashubian dress. Tourist, wandering from gate to gate, at each point will be surprised by various elements connected with culture and folklore of Kashubia.
The object will be divided into two parts. The first one will be a professional tourist information. Certainly, visual screens, on which short promotional films will be broadcasted, also in English and German will be one of tourist attractions. All the gadgets related to the region will be also available- the mayor explains.
The second part of the object will be used for multimedia and exhibition hall. There will be, inter alia, three showcases with manikins dressed, of course, in Kashubian costumes. The showcases will be moving on wheels and they will be placed differently, depending on the composition of a show. In addition, the exhibition will include prominent elements of Kashubian dress, such as bonnets, or other individual gadgets that promote and complement the whole dress and Kashubian folklore- says the town mayor.
Multimedia room will also have an offer for children. There are a lot of ideas. One of them is that a person e.g. Kashubian grandmother from the screen teaches children the Kashubian alphabet, sings and shows Kashubian notes. - If we arrange that interestingly and wittily, for sure children will want to follow the "Kashubian grandma" and learn our music and pictorial alphabet.
Kartuzy’s Gateway of Kashubian Ring is going to initiate its activity in the beginning of August next week.
