“Bear Leading”, a Polish folk custom performed during the Carnival, turned out to be a success at world’s greatest fair of agriculture and food in Berlin. The interviews with the group "Krampskie bery" from Krêpna situated in Zdzieszowice district were recorded by RBB television channel, Deutsche Welle radio, whilst the photo session for the folk group was held by "Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung" newspaper. Moderators of "Antenne Brandenburg" have invited the group from Krêpna onto the stage where they performed "Sto lat" for the mayor of Potsdam (partnership city of Opole).
Grüne Woche (Greek Week) fair in Berlin, which will last till 24th of January is a colourful and tasty spectacle: 1600 exhibitors, 400 000 visitors. It is called “agricultural Davos”, as it is a meeting place for ministers of agriculture and politicians from several dozen countries, who during the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture debate over the challenges and problems related to feeding the world. The greatest stress is put on the return to nature.
The motto under which Poland presented itself was “Know your food”. Opolskie Voivodeship tempted the visitors with Silesian ornamented Easter eggs (kroszonki) from Malnia, artistic ornamented Easter eggs (pisanki) from Nysa, honey from £osiów, healthy bread and Silesian yeast cake (ko³ocz) from Otmice.
Honey from £osiów drew the attention of a world-wide importer of dried fruits from Berlin. He took samples of heather honey to a laboratory. If the honey turns out to be as excellent as it tastes, he is willing to order 2 tons.
